As I have a broad field of interests and also enjoy a fascination of the web I create new websites from time to time. I create the new websites because I have got new ideas to communicate on the Internet. This website www.photo-diary.com is such an idea :-)

Earlier it was an advantage to own several websites for the search engine placement. When I made links between my websites that would help the search engine placement of new websites. And these links would also help keeping the older websites with good search engine placement. Now a ‘days search engine placement builds more on having links from high traffic websites to your own website, and reciprocal linking between two websites wouldn’t help that much in the search engine placement.

For improved search engine placement you will have to wait until someone find your interesting stuff and make links to your site. The more high traffic websites that link to your site the more improved search engine placement you will have.

Of cause I can also get help from search engine optimization companies. A search engine optimization company will do two things: They will help me to get my website into the database of the most important search engines, and they will propose changes of the website wording to get improved search engine placement for my most important keywords. – But it costs! And there are too many of the so-called search engine optimization companies that are more smart than useful. I prefer to work for improved search engine placement by myself.

I still link my websites to each other but avoid the mechanic reciprocal linking. For new important websites I just make one link from my most trafficked website if that can be done in a reasonably way. And then I tried something new yesterday.

I wrote an article about a special topic related to the content of a new website I needed improved search engine placement for. This article was a polished version of some website content from the same website. And then I submitted it to a paid service for distribution of articles with free reprint rights.

If everything goes well my article will be published at a number of high traffic websites and in ezines and that should give me improved search engine placement for that website. I will keep you updated about my experience. The cost for the distribution was 20 USD and for improved search engine placement that is a small fee. I expect good traffic to come from the article, too.
