Union Pacific's last operating 8-axle giant, EMD DDA40X #6936, leads a business & inspection special westbound across Wisconsin. The train is seen first at County Highway A/G in the town of Brooks, then coming into Adams at the Main Street crossing, and finally leaving the yard for points west.

I was lucky to see 6936 "BEAST", pass by house here in Dunsmuir today. I got in my truck and drove downtown to see it staging. The trains next stop is Klammath Falls with it's ultimate destination of BC. The laughter in the video is me because the engineer is taking a picture of me. Sorry for the shaky footage, I took this with my digital camera.

The private Union Pacific passenger special that brought their vice president of engineering to Chicago for an award ceremony now begins the trek back to Nebraska, with heritage unit 6936 in the lead. 6936 is the last of UP's dual engined diesels with 6600 horsepower dating from 1969.
