Seychelles
Islands, birds and wildlife
The
Seychelles Islands host world class outstanding wildlife in a clean
environment. A number of endemic species are only living at one
or more of the Seychelles Islands.
Among
the Seychelles Islands special wildlife you find 12 endemic species
of birds, and many of these are endemic. In fact more than 90% of
avian extinctions during the last 300 years have been island endemics.

Besides
the many interesting endemic birds you will find some much more
common speicies breeding in high numbers. I will say, that the amazing
thing is their big numbers and your possility to approach and experience
these bird species at very close hand. Some of these bird speices
are really beautiful and charming birds.

Bird
Island is as well a paradise for ornithologists as a unique private
island with only one resort (Bird Island Lodge) and completely surrounded
by pristine white beaches. - It is very difficult to leave Bird
Island, I must say.
